A warm welcome to the holiday and the sweet camping life at Faaborg Camping.
We Lone and Torben Kjærulff have lived on and developed the campsite since we took over the site in December 2001.
The site and its 125 units are laid out well in the hilly natural landscape in the middle of Svanninge Bakker and Svanninge Bjerge.
We are placed on an old farm from 1827 – here are modern facilities, luxury cabins, mobile homes, luxury tents and standard cabins.
The latest initiative is our Pancake Cart which is in the middle of the courtyard, and a new Wifi network for everyone in the square.
At Faaborg Camping you will meet us at the reception, in the pancake cart, cutting the grass or cleaning the toilets together with our helpers. Don’t be afraid to ask us for help, advice or more information. We will gladly help you out.
Faaborg Camping is the right choice when you want to visit Faaborg town and harbour – The gateway to the South Funen Archipelago with more than 55 islands and islets. With Faaborg Camping as a starting point, you can use the many hiking trails or the hiking route Øhavsstien, hop on the bike and feel the rush on the hills, past the manors and out to the beaches.
You can also strap on your cycling shoes and use the many mountain bike tracks found in the area or visit the many well-known and lesser-known versatile artists and handicraft sites located in the area.
Go out and taste Funen – the island is a large pantry. Experience the many delights and sights. Here are many amazing experiences for both children and adults.

Our history
In December 2001, together with our two boys Nikolaj and Rasmus, we took over Faaborg Camping. At that time, the campsite was called Svanninge Søgård Camping.
The site was, at the time, a small 2-star campsite with 5 cabins and 75 units for caravans and tents. There was no reception or shop, and the toilet facilities needed a loving hand.
The first thing we renovated for our first season was a reception and a small kiosk. We did all the work ourselves with a focus on getting the campsite upgraded to 3 stars.
For the start of the 2005 season, we were able to take new beautiful toilet/bathing facilities into use, and we finally got rewarded with the 3rd star. We added a mini-golf course, and the campsite changed its name to Faaborg Camping.
In 2006, 2 new Luxury cabins were ready. In the intervening years, all electricity on the site has been replaced, and the units for caravans, tent guests, motorhomes have been renovated.
Our next big task was when in the autumn of 2011, we bought 2.5 hectares of land from our neighbour. Here are now 50 large units in hilly terrain, horse paddocks and a path to Svanninge Bakker and Bjerge.
This makeover has given Faaborg Camping a fantastic boost.
In the spring of 2013, we were the first campsite on Funen to get two new beautiful mobile homes from France. Faaborg Camping now has 4 standard cabins, 2 luxury cabins and 2 mobile homes and 2 luxury tents.
The camping kitchen, laundry room and playground have been renovated.
The arch at the entrance to our courtyard and property is new and beautifully renovated – it was completely damaged due to a collision with a truck in 2019.
In the autumn of 2020, we have begun a total renovation of the property’s perhaps oldest house, which faces Odensevej. We will set up an outdoor service centre and a pancake cafe.
The outdoor centre is equipped with a bicycle workshop, group room, safety box for e.g. bicycles and horse equipment, a drying room and an outdoor washing area for mountain bikes.
Expected to open on April 1, 2022.
